In Memory of Jasper Johnson

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our good friend Jasper J. Johnson on August 1st after a brief illness.  Jasper was born September 26, 1944 to Helen Graham and Jasper Johnson in East Machias Maine. Throughout his life Jasper played a big roll with in the Downeast Horizons family.  He always wanted to fly and was granted his wish back in the 90’s when he took flight in a scenic plane over Bar Harbor. He loved to fish, and looked forward to Spring and Summer to be able to go with whomever would take him.  He was a big fan of coffee, root beer and burger king. Jasper loved cowboy shows and Johnny Cash. He also loved spending time visiting with his friends especially one in particular, Pamela Lawson.

Jasper leaves behind two sisters, Elsie Stauffer from East Machias, and Annie Lindsey from Massachusetts, many nieces and nephews, and many friends whom loved him as family.  His hardy laugh and great sense of humor will truly be missed. In honor of Jasper, a memorial picnic will be held at Downeast Horizons Ellsworth Center on August 23rd. (Time to be determined)
