Volunteers are an important resource to Downeast Horizons. Our volunteer opportunities vary from actively helping at our Community Events to assisting with Special Olympics. Each hour of volunteering helps!

We welcome individuals of all ages. Students can meet community service requirements and businesses can reach out to the community with corporate volunteers.
Downeast Horizons Community Events
Volunteer at our Annual Color Fun 5K in May! You can help with throwing color at the racers, help direct traffic, pass out water, or clean-up after the race! Businesses can become sponsors too!
Volunteer at our Annual Autism Awareness Walk in April! You can help with setting up or cleaning-up after the walk, help walkers cross the streets and pass out shirts. You can also help raise money to spread awareness and walk with us to show your support.
Special Olympics Maine
Special Olympics Maine seeks volunteers throughout the year! Please contact them at 207-879-0489.
Downeast Horizons participates in the following sports through the Special Olympics: Soccer, Bowling, Snowshoeing, Swimming, Basketball, Bocce and Track & Field.
